Hooray, Zach! I always knew we'd find something in common! ;-)
I have to admit that Keith Olbermann was my favorite SportsCenter anchor. If he were to take that post again, I'm not sure I'd have the same affection for him, however.
Keith Olbermann made eminent sense here. Was it also okay to outlaw inter-racial marriage? That, in itself, shows how little distance we've traveled from the darkness of ignorance.
Maybe, someday, we'll figure out there's no such thing as god!
I've already figured that out, but certainly don't begrudge anybody else their right to worship. If only we could do the same for same-sex marriage.
Geoff, I agree with Olbermann's position. I dislike him for purely superficial reasons. It is possible to be correct and annoying simultaneously. As a radical liberal, I am deeply skeptical of the righteous style in politics. The democratic process in America is about nothing more than who gets to control the taxing and spending.
The same bible that establish homosexuality as wrong is the same bible that approves, foments and defends the practice of slavery.
I think this inconsistency is truly insufferable. Hopefully, with time, believers will reject the homophobic verses in the bible just as they have rejected the pro-slavery ones.
Just look at how Bob Jones university is apologizing for their past racist policies.

Hopefully in the future they will apologize for their homophobic policies as well.

Keith Olbermann should have stuck to SportsCenter.
But then I'd never have heard of him.
Or his senseful approach to issues (like gay marriage).
Shawn, we seem to have finally found common ground. Keith Olbermann is insufferable.
Keith Olbermann--the gift that keeps on giving.

Good night, and good luck.
Geoff, you're welcome to drop me a line privately.
